SHEBOYGAN FALLS, WI (WHBL) – A Wisconsin National Guard mobile specimen collection team returned to Sheboygan County on Monday to conduct testing at the Pine Haven Christian Community on Giddings Avenue in Sheboygan Falls, and they’ll return on Friday to finish the effort.
The National Guard sends teams where needed to support local health departments and the State Department of Health Services to increase the COVID-19 testing capacity. National Guard teams can be tailored to meet the needs of a specific facility. After specimens are collected they’re sent to a lab for analysis, and individuals get their results within 3 to 7 days.
A facility-wide investigation is ongoing at Pine Haven’s Giddings Avenue facility and another is underway at Sheboygan Progressive Health Services. Such investigations are done when a single confirmed case is found at any long-term care or skilled nursing facility.
National Guard teams are no stranger to Sheboygan Falls, having already collected 970 specimens during visits there on three occasions in June.
