SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, WI (WHBL) – Mobile specimen collection teams from the Wisconsin National Guard are back in Sheboygan County, collecting specimens to help track the progress of COVID-19.
A team began tests Monday at unnamed senior living facilities in Sheboygan Falls. That testing will wrap up later today. Sheboygan Falls has been a frequent location for National Guard testing teams this month, with nearly 570 specimens collected there in visits on June 15th and 16th.
The Guard supports state and local efforts to maintain testing capacity while tailoring their operations to meet the needs of those facilities. After collecting the specimens at each site, the test kits are sent to a lab for analysis, and individual citizens receive their results via a phone call from their local health department or a state call center within three-to-seven days following the test.
