(WHBL) – Hospital Sisters Health System, which operates Sheboygan St. Nicholas and 5 other Wisconsin hospitals, has jointly announced a new partnership with the Community Blood Center, which will now provide all blood and blood components transfused to its patients. That partnership formally begins Wednesday.
The CBC has had a presence in Wisconsin and the UP since 1955. President and CEO of The Community Blood Center John Hagins said they were honored to partner with HSHS hospitals to provide a dependable blood supply from a local organization. The blood and components are used for routine medical treatments, surgeries, injuries and unexpected traumas.
HSHS Wisconsin President and CEO Andy Bagnall said the partnership was part of a commitment to ensure all patients that need blood and blood products are given the highest quality of care.
CBC has already begun hosting blood drives in the area.
