(Reuters) – The city manager of Tucson, Arizona, Mike Ortega, said in an email he was not accepting a resignation offer from police chief Chris Magnus over the death of a man in police custody who was handcuffed and restrained face down, a local television station reported.
“I am not accepting Chief Magnus’ offer of resignation nor am I requesting it,” Ortega said in an email, according to a tweet by KVOA News 4 Tucson.
