SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – Superior Avenue from North 29th Street to Taylor Drive is a busy stretch on most days, but all that traffic will have to use alternate routes beginning Monday as repairs and construction of sewers, street, sidewalk, lighting and traffic signals get underway.
That stretch, basically fronting the St. Nicholas Hospital campus, will not only close the street to through traffic, but also restrict North Taylor Drive to one lane in each direction through the Superior Avenue intersection. A detour will route traffic using Wilgus Avenue, the Kohler Memorial Drive Frontage Road and North 25th Street.
Those living and working along the project will have access from North 30th and 31st Streets, while St. Nick will have access from North 31st as well as from Taylor Drive. Those needing the Medical Arts Building will use a Saemann Avenue driveway.
City Engineer and Project Manager Kevin Jump says the project should wrap up sometime this November.
