SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – Another 6 cases of COVID-19 were added in Sunday’s daily report from the Sheboygan County Division of Health Services. With that, the total number of cases in the county has reached 169. The past week’s total of 54 cases since Sunday, June 7th now comprise nearly 1/3 of all cases recorded since the first 3 were confirmed by County DHS on March 13th. A new high of 54 cases are currently active, and one of those is hospitalized. 187 more persons had negative test results reported to DHS, bringing that running total past 6,000 (6,028). 111 persons have now recovered from the illness. By age group, cases in persons between the ages of 20 and 39 number 56. 48 have been confirmed in persons ages 40-59; 37 were found in those ages 60-79, 19 have been experienced in those 19 years and younger, and 9 have been confirmed in persons 80 and older.
In Wisconsin, 240 more persons tested positive for the coronavirus. As 11,037 tests were negative, that makes up 2.4% of returns, once again putting the metric of positive returns over a 14-day period on a downward trajectory. However, the actual daily number of COVID-19-like illnesses reported is not going down when averaged over the past 14-days, nor are reports of flu-like illnesses or the numbers of health care workers contracting the disease. 3 more persons in Wisconsin have died of COVID-19, raising the toll to 692.
