SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – Even if the daily tally adds another one or three coronavirus cases to the numbers, the sum total of facts on balance support the decision effective June 5th for Sheboygan County to enter Phase 2 of its Safe Restart Plan.
Under Phase 2 Specifics, the Best Practice Guidelines for addressing the transmission and control of COVID-19 as developed by the Wisconsin Economic Development Commission and the Centers for Disease Control will continue. The Capacity within non-essential businesses, bars, restaurants and organizations is now 50%. Those 65 and older and those who are medically vulnerable should continue to limit travel and remain at home as much as possible.
The specifics do allow for outdoor events so long as everyone is able to maintain 6 feet physical distance, or the equivalent of 36 square feet per person, from others. As for the indoors, private gatherings should observe the same physical distancing while limiting attendance to 25 persons or less, and mask use is encouraged for both staff and consumers alike.
The daily report from the Sheboygan County Division of Health Services shows another 3 positive tests for coronavirus reported since Thursday, while 343 persons were negative. 23 cases, none hospitalized, are active while 83 persons have now recovered.
Wisconsin’s confirmed count of positive tests went up 357, or 2.9% of total tests, topping 20K for the first time in total cases at 20,249. 7 more persons died of coronavirus since yesterday, raising the state toll to 633.
