WASHINGTON (Reuters) – White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany said on Wednesday that U.S. Defense Secretary Mark Esper was still in his post as speculation swirled that President Donald Trump wanted to remove the Pentagon chief over comments on current nationwide protests.
“As of right now, Secretary Esper is still Secretary Esper and should the president lose faith we will all learn about that in the future,” McEnany said at a press briefing.
