MADRID (Reuters) – Spain’s plans to tax tech companies’ revenues does not discriminate against any country, a government source told Reuters on Tuesday after the United States opened a probe into such taxes or proposals by its various trading partners.
The tax would be based on objective criteria and would be adapted to fit within any framework agreement reached by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the source said. Spain’s parliament is set to debate the tax on Thursday.
