SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – Wisconsin Boys and Girls Clubs are getting a $20,000 boost from the Wisconsin Education Association Trust, according to WEA Trust President & CEO Mike Quist. Sheboygan County has six Boys and Girls Clubs and they, along with others in Wisconsin, serve almost 145,000 youth and provide over 2 million meals and snacks to youth every year at no cost.
Those clubs depend largely upon donations, and many of the fundraisers they depend upon were cancelled because of the pandemic, leaving a financial gap in the millions across Wisconsin, according to Andy Gussert, Executive Director of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Wisconsin. But donations like the WEA Trust can help bridge the gap.
Over half of Wisconsin Boys & Girls Club sites will reopen in June, and if you’d like to help their operation you can donate to a statewide COVID-19 Relief Fund at bgcwisconsin.org that will be used to purchase food, acquire supplies, pay staff and address needs directly related to the coronavirus pandemic.
