SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – There are two additional coronavirus cases in the Thursday update from the Sheboygan County Department of Health. The confirmed case count now stands at 10 active cases. Since testing began, Sheboygan County has conducted 3,058 tests for COVID-19, 88 of those tests came back positive, the other 2,970 with negative results. Statewide, there have been 16,974 confirmed cases.
The Department of Health and Wisconsin National Guard continue their mass community testing events at the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds. The testing will continue Friday from 11-7, and Saturday from 8am-4pm. Members of the Wisconsin National Guard are conducting the testing, and have the capacity handle 400 tests daily. At this time, only people with symptoms can be tested. The test determines if you have COVID-19 right now, and is not an antibody test to tell if you’ve had it in the past or are immune.
In Madison, Health Department officials say there are over 500 new COVID-19 patients and eleven COVID deaths recorded over the last 24 hours. The state has received over ten-thousand test results in each of the last two days. The number of total coronavirus cases in the state is nearing 17-thousand, with a death toll of 550.
