WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The U.S. Trade Representative’s office on Wednesday criticized a federal court’s decision to reinstate an exception for certain solar panels from import restrictions imposed by President Donald Trump two years ago.
The U.S. Court of International Trade on Wednesday blocked the USTR from eliminating an exception for bifacial solar panels that it had initially granted but later rescinded after finding it had led to a spike in imports.
“The solar industry and the jobs it represents are important to this country, and USTR will take all necessary and appropriate steps to ensure that its safeguard relief is effective,” the agency said in a statement.
