SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – Given the current pace of new cases of COVID-19 in Sheboygan County, no stress is likely to be inflicted upon our local health care system in the near term. But all eyes are searching for any trends that may show that the decision to move Wisconsin towards increasingly open activity could have negative effects on the progress of the coronavirus pandemic.
36 more Sheboygan County residents’ test results became known since Saturday – all negative – and another person has recovered leaving the active case count here at 14. Nobody in Sheboygan County is hospitalized with COVID-19.
In Wisconsin, 3 more persons have died since Saturday, and 5-1/2% of the 7,277 persons tested in the last 24-hours have been positive, raising the state account by 400 cases to 14,877 total incidences of COVID-19.
Details remain to be released, however mass community testing is being prepared to be done at the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds this coming Thursday through Saturday by the Wisconsin National Guard. Specific times and instructions will be released as soon as those details are confirmed.
