(WHBL) – The Wisconsin Department of Revenue is holding on to 3-and-a-half million dollars in unclaimed property, and some of it might be yours.
In the past two months, the DOR delivered about $1.89 million in unclaimed property checks to 292 people who matched records kept by the department, and also mailed checks totaling over $3 million automatically to more than 32,000 persons who were each owed $2,000 or less.
That leaves $3.5 million still unclaimed. Department of Revenue Secretary Peter Barca said that belongs to 450 persons who were sent letters, but weren’t answered. To find out if you’re one of those, you can search the DOR website:
