SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – The Sheboygan River remains above flood stage and it probably won’t return within its banks until Friday morning. That, according to hydrologists at the National Weather Service.
Levels measured near Esslingen Park remained at about 8-1/2 feet this morning. Flood stage is 8 feet and minor flooding takes place at 6 feet, a level likely to be exceeded until around 5 Friday morning.
Docks along Sheboygan’s riverfront are likely to be at risk through sometime Thursday. At the same time, ponding will probably last longer on saturated soils, providing breeding grounds for mosquitoes and delaying crop work during the critical planting season.
