SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – As the state, counties and municipalities of Wisconsin take their own individual measures to corral the spread of COVID-19, the disease itself is taking a steady course, with cumulative rise showing no sign of slowing, and positive returns rising again as a percentage of total tests conducted in Wisconsin. 6,051 persons were tested in the state within the past 24 hours, 8.3% of those returning positive results – a total of 502 new cases added and an upward trend in positive returns. That amounts to 12,187 cases so far. 453 of those have died, another 8 since yesterday.
In Sheboygan County, the Division of Public Health reports one additional case of COVID-19 among the 42 persons tested since Friday. 3 of the 71 confirmed cases are still active, and no one is hospitalized.
The County Division of Pubic Health is now offering a dashboard of the benchmark criteria required to be met in order for the Sheboygan County Safe Restart program to progress, and it is included as part of the daily updates available at the following link:
So far two of the five criteria remain unmet: the ability to test all residents with COVID-like symptoms…with priority toward vulnerable populations…and, adequate PPE available to health care personnel. Care, Tracing and Trajectory metrics have been met.
