(WHBL) – There will be no walking across a stage, hand-shaking or tassel placement on the mortarboards, but graduation will be going forward nonetheless for 450 students of Lakeshore Technical College. For the first time in the college’s history, the commencement will be a virtual event, live streamed tomorrow on the LTC Facebook page.
LTC President Dr. Paul Carlsen said, “Although we cannot honor them in person now, we sincerely hope they celebrate this accomplishment by watching the virtual graduation we put together for them.”
According to Carlsen, the college will hold an in-person graduation in the fall if physical distancing and other protocols in place at that time allow.
Even with the virtual nature of tomorrow’s commencement, some traditional elements will remain, including remarks from LTC President Carlsen and two student speakers: accounting grad Mary Mallegni of School Hill and Cassandra Arndt of Sheboygan Falls, who is graduating from the hospitality management program. The virtual ceremony begins tomorrow at 2PM.
