SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – Careless use of smoking materials is the suspected cause of a fire Saturday afternoon in Sheboygan.
Battalion Chief Michael Lubbert reports that the call came in shortly after 4 PM Saturday, and in 4 minutes crews arrived to find flames coming from the front porch of the home in the 2200 block of North 8th Street, where bystanders and Sheboygan Police were attempting to extinguish the fire. Firefighters finished the operation and occupants were able to return to their home.
Nobody was injured. Damage is estimated at about $2500.
