SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, WI (WHBL) – As new data arrives, the State of Wisconsin again “turned the dial” on Safer at Home, allowing more businesses to open safely and responsibly.
Locally, the Sheboygan County Department of Health Services reports that all 36 tests conducted since Sunday were negative, bringing the total number of negative results to 1,500. Positives remain at 68 with 17 cases currently active. 1 is hospitalized currently with COVID-19. 48 persons have recovered and 3 are deceased from the pandemic.
Wisconsin has now recorded 10,418 cases of the coronavirus with the addition of 199 cases since yesterday. The percent of positive test returns in the last 24 hours is 6.5%, resuming the decline that’s needed to be sustained for 14 days in order to implement phase 1 of the “Badger Bounce Back” plan to reopen Wisconsin.
While 3 of the 6 gating metrics are still “in the red” and prohibit implementing that first phase, the issuance by the Governor today of Emergency Order #36 “turns the dial” of gradual easing of the restrictions imposed in order to control the spread of the virus. The new directive allows all standalone or strip-mall based retail stores to offer in-person shopping for up to five customers at a time, while maintaining required social distancing practices. All businesses must continue to follow all safety precautions and guidelines as outlined in the “Safer at Home” order.
