SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, WI (WHBL) – Mother’s Day was celebrated under the shadow of a pandemic as Wisconsin recorded another 2 deaths due to COVID-19, now numbering 400 since the coronavirus landed in Badgerland. 3,408 persons were tested since Saturday…a drop of over 2,000 tests administered to potential carriers of the disease. With 280 coming back positive the number of confirmed cases in Wisconsin now numbers 10,219. 8% of those tested returned positive results, an increase over Saturday’s rate of 7% and again resetting the gating criteria needed to implement the first phase of the Badger Bounce Back plan to emerge from isolation.
For Sheboygan County in particular, the daily release from the County Department of Health Services reported 38 persons tested since yesterday with no new cases to report. Of the 68 cases so far confirmed, 18 remain active and 1 is hospitalized with COVID-19. 47 persons have recovered and 3 are deceased.
On Monday, the 115th Fighter Wing will pay tribute to all of America’s heroes, in particular “the health care workers and first responders who have tirelessly supported communities across Wisconsin during the COVID-19 pandemic response.”
Four F-16 Fighting Falcons will perform a flyover of Sheboygan’s St. Nicholas Hospital and Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center, flying within a mile of both and approaching from the southwest between 6:02 PM and 6:12 PM.
