KOHLER, WI (WHBL) – Sheboygan County’s largest employer is making adjustments to its operations in order to better manage the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. The company announced in a statement released on Monday that the cast iron foundry and ceramics divisions are among those most impacted by market demands, and have been temporarily shut down as operations in Wisconsin and globally are being adjusted to respond.
UAW Local 833 president Tim Tayloe said the ceramics division expects to reopen the week of May 18th and the foundry should reopen next week. Tayloe said that every division except generators has also been operating under a 32-hour work week.
