SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, WI (WHBL) – The State’s percentage of positive test results over the past day went down from Friday’s all-time high of 12.7%, now measured at 10.3%. As of now the soonest the Badger Bounce Back implementation could start is May 15, and that only if the so-called “gating metrics” are met for 14 consecutive days beginning yesterday.
Wisconsin has registered 7,660 cases of the coronavirus so far, another 346 since Friday when the number jumped by over 450.
Sheboygan County’s total went up by 1 active case and 1 hospitalization – though it wasn’t specified if that hospitalization represented the newest case. 53 persons have now come down with COVID-19 in the county, and 10 cases are active. Of the 49 persons tested in the last 24 hours, 47 were negative and the overall positive test rate in Sheboygan County is 5%.
Most State Parks and Recreation Areas opened – with limitations – yesterday morning. Restrooms and other facilities, such as nature centers and playgrounds, remain closed and social distancing is required. Some like Harrington Beach State Park will observe a quota of visitors; once reached, someone must leave before another can enter. Kohler-Andrae State Park doesn’t have a quota, but one could be imposed should the situation warrant.
The inland fishing season in Wisconsin also got underway this morning, just as rental of recreational equipment came under permitted activity rules.
