SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – A 19 year old Sheboygan man was hospitalized after the car he was driving ended up in a retention pond early Thursday morning.
Sheboygan police were called to the area of Washington Avenue and South 32nd shortly before 8 AM for a report of a car inside of a retention pond. When officers arrived, the man was on top of his partially submerged vehicle. Officers brought a flotation disc to the scene to help him out of the water, but he was able to get out under his own power.
An investigation revealed the vehicle went through the stop sign at Washington Avenue and 32nd and into the pond – believed to be the result of a medical event.
The driver was taken to a hospital to be treated for hypothermia and the crash is under investigation
