SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – Governor Evers has laid out the roadmap to recovery from the coronavirus pandemic in his Badger Bounce Back plan. But Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce – the combined state chamber, manufacturers’ association and safety council – has its own plan that was released on Friday.
WMC’s “Back to Business” plan draws on best practices and recommendations from OSHA and the Centers for Disease Control, and would open businesses based upon factors measured within the county of operation rather than within the state as a whole as designed in the Badger Bounce Back.
The plan has drawn the endorsement of 9th District Senator Devin LeMahieu of Oostburg, who said: “It is vitally important that we act quickly to establish a science-based plan using public health data to keep Wisconsinites safe while providing a framework for businesses to reopen. The Back to Business plan appropriately balances these two priorities.”
WMC’s plan would start reopening businesses under their guidelines as soon as May 4th for those counties that meet the standards.
