SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, WI (WHBL) – No new cases of coronavirus were recorded since Tuesday according to the daily COVID-19 update from the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health. While the state added another 225 to the total count, now 4,845, Sheboygan County’s positive test tally remains at 45. 12 cases remain active and of those, 3 are hospitalized. The only two fatalities due to the disease were related to an outbreak of 19 cases at Sunny Ridge. 3 of those remain active. 30 more persons were tested for the coronavirus since Tuesday’s report, and all were negative. The jump in state numbers, roughly double the pace of previous reports, did coincide with the incubation period following the spring election. Data wasn’t provided in today’s report that would prove a cause-and-effect, though speculation abounds.
Health Officer for the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health Starrlene Grossman yesterday announced that the Sheboygan County Pubic Health Order (Order #1) regarding campground re-opening is now rescinded. That means that campgrounds will be allowed to open as long as they follow the restrictions set forth in section 13 of that order.
Public Health also issued a memo to employers regarding the return to work of anyone that has tested positive for COVID-19 and those who had close contact. At the heart of the memo were guidelines concerning the required home isolation of infected individuals and their contacts, recovery time and return-to-work orders. Public Health said that they would place any persons shown to have close contact with a positive case in quarantine for 14 days past the date of last exposure, and that written orders would be provided. Individuals would be responsible for notifying their employer of illness or absence, and that a formal release from isolation/quarantine would be issued when it was warranted.
