SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, WI (WHBL) – While the number of COVID-19 cases in Wisconsin grew by 145 since Friday, Sheboygan County’s statistics on the Coronavirus Pandemic were unchanged according to Saturday’s update from the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health. The only local number that changed was the number of negative test results, up by 16 to a total of 530. 2 persons remain hospitalized with the disease. 35 cases have been confirmed; 14 have recovered, 19 remain active and 2 succumbed to the respiratory infection.
Public Health is urging people to stick to the “Safer At Home” rules this Easter weekend by celebrating at home with the household only, and not gathering with family even if it’s fewer than 10 people with 6 feet separation between individuals. The only way to control the Coronavirus Pandemic is to deny the virus’ spread person-to-person.
Because of the State and National health emergencies, Governor Evers eased several administrative requirements pertaining to professional services in his Emergency Order #22 that will reduce the need for face-to-face contact and extend deadlines. His Emergency Order #23 eased the economic impact on veterans experiencing a loss of income due to the Coronavirus. It will now be easier to qualify for help from the Assistance for Needy Veterans from the Department of Veterans Affairs.
People are also being encouraged to wear a mask when in public, especially when shopping or other necessary activities make it hard to maintain 6-foot social distancing from others. They also emphasize that homemade cloth masks aren’t intended to prevent people from catching COVID-19, but more to keep one’s own respiratory secretions to themselves, thereby preventing others from getting the disease. Masks also prevent people from touching their face and mouth, one main form of virus transfer.
