SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – Sheboygan Police say that they’ve received multiple calls with questions regarding city parks. Federal guidelines and Governor Evers’ “Safer at Home” directives stipulate that people should engage only in “essential activities,” such as obtaining food and for doctor appointments. However, the Governor’s emergency order includes recreation in such activities so long as a few restrictions are followed. You may travel to public and state parks for walks, hikes and bike rides. No team or contact sports are permitted and playgrounds and park equipment are closed. Even so, those using the parks cannot congregate in groups, must use proper social distance and, the statement concludes: “be kind to one another”.
SPD does offer that those conditions are subject to change depending upon the progression of the COVID-19 pandemic.
