UNDATED (WHBL) – If you’re not yet registered to vote for the April 7th Spring Election, you can now register online until March 30th, according to the Wisconsin Elections Commission. Voters must be registered before they can request an absentee ballot, so reopening online registration was ordered by a federal court in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The absolute deadline for most voters to request an absentee ballot is Thursday, April 2nd, but Wisconsin’s chief elections official, Meagan Wolfe, said voters should not wait until then since there’s a high volume of requests and potential mail delivery issues. The US Postal Service recommends allowing at least a week to get your ballot by mail, so Wolfe says that anyone not yet registered should do so immediately. That can be done by visiting MyVote.WI.gov
