SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, WI (WHBL) – Work to expand Highway 23 from two to four lanes between Plymouth and the Fond du Lac County line will resume April 6th. This work picks up where the 2019 efforts left off, completing grading for the additional lanes of travel. During construction, Highway 23 will remain open for travel on the existing lanes. Once grading is complete – expected sometime this summer – then crews will begin paving the additional lanes.
Construction of an eastbound structure over the Ice Age Trail is also slated for this year as are construction of culverts and inlets and completion of a wetland mitigation site. Completion of the Sheboygan County portion of the Highway 23 expansion project is expected in mid-2021.
