MANITOWOC COUNTY, WI (WHBL) – Deputies in Manitowoc County were involved in a high speed chase Saturday afternoon. A press release from the Sheriff’s Department says Two Rivers police tried to stop a stolen car taken from the city of Manitowoc.
The driver, Lucas Munson of New Holstein, failed to stop. Officers chased the vehicle for nearly 25 miles at speeds reaching 100 miles per hour. The SUV ended up in a hay field in the Township of Manitowoc Rapids. The driver got out of the car and took off running. The K-9 unit was called and chased the driver until he was caught. Munson had minor injuries from the “bite apprehension” – and is now facing a number of charges.
