SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, WI (WHBL) – A community notification system has been up and running since the beginning of February in Sheboygan County, and it’s being tested next week.
Called “CodeRED”, the system allows Sheboygan County public safety officials to effectively reach residents and personnel to send telephone calls, text messages, emails and social media posts to inform residents and better protect life and property. Critical and time-sensitive information could involve missing persons, natural disasters, evacuation notices, weather warnings, public health crises, criminal activity, shelter-in-place notices and more.
Those who sign up for CodeRED will receive a test notification Thursday afternoon, March 26th. County Administrator Adam Payne said that residents and businesses should make sure their emergency contact information is up-to-date by visiting the county’s homepage where a link is placed at the bottom.
