SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, WI (WHBL) – Sheboygan County’s incidence of the COVID-19 disease now numbers six as of Thursday’s 2 PM update from the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health. The increase is in step with state trends – Wisconsin now has 115 confirmed cases of the coronavirus that’s spreading in the global pandemic. Whereas the original three cases contracted the virus while traveling internationally, the latest three got the coronavirus through contact with an existing positive case. All cases are being monitored by the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health, which in turn is working closely with the State DHS and CDC to ensure appropriate measures are in place to prepare the community for additional cases of COVID-19.
Public Health is identifying and contacting anyone who has been in close contact with a person who has COVID-19. These people are asked to quarantine themselves for 14 days from their exposure and will be monitored for fever and respiratory symptoms. Meanwhile Public Health and Emergency Management has convened a panel of key health care providers and other stakeholders from the city and county to ensure a coordinated multi-agency response as the situation evolves.
