Reggie Barber, 74, of Plymouth, passed away on November 14, 2019, after a courageous battle with
Lewy body dementia.
He was born on November 29, 1944, a son of the late Reginald and Phyllis (Ladwig) Barber.
Reggie graduated from Plymouth High School in 1963. Following high school, he served in the United
States Army.
On May 25, 1968, Reggie married the love of his life and best friend, JoAnne Abstetar.
He was employed as a meat cutter at Lauers Food and later worked at Sargento Foods until his
retirement in January 2011.
Reggie enjoyed bowling, fishing, playing cards, horseshoes, campfires, watching the sunset, and
spending time with family and friends at his cottage on Lake Winnebago.
The light of his life was his wife, children and grandchildren. He is survived by: Wife: JoAnne; Sons: Tim
(Karla), Tony (Heather), and Troy (Dana); Daughter: Nikki (Ryan) Yakich; Grandsons: Shawn, Tyler, Travis,
Mitchell, Damien, Collin, and Ethan; Granddogs: Ezra, Mercury, Zyra, Teagan, Freddie, and Emma.
He is further survived by: Brothers: Dennis (Lynn), Ed (Kate), and Tom; Brothers and Sisters-in-law: Tony
(Janice) Abstetar, Mary (Churck) Steinhardt, Nancy Abstetar, Kay (Terry) Peterson, Laurie Hollnagel, Tom
Abstetar, and Trish Abstetar; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Reggie was preceded in death by: His parents; Father and Mother-in-law: Joseph and Mardell Abstetar;
Sister: Ruth (Jim) Sullivan; and Brothers-in-law: Michael Abstetar and Rick Hollnagel.
In honor of Reggie’s wishes, private family services have been held.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at St. Nicholas Hospital, Sharon S.
Richardson Hospice, and Rocky Knoll for the wonderful care, kindness, and compassion. Also a special
