Vera M. Steinhardt, age 88 of Sheboygan passed away Monday, January
28th, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family.
Born April 23, 1930 in Sheboygan to Eric and Emma (Kashner) Plass she
attended and graduated from local schools. She was a educational
assistant for the Sheboygan Area School District for 36 years, retiring in
2011. On July 21, 1990 she was united in marriage to Roy C. Steinhardt in
Sheboygan. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ
where she was a Sunday school teacher for 40 years. She also enjoyed
gardening, traveling and spending time with family.
Vera is survived by her husband Roy, a daughter, Laurie (Randy) Lawrenz,
a daughter in law, Jackie Filipiak, 3 grandschildren, Greta (Jim) Hoderny,
Leah (Brian Hibl) Schultz, Grant Schultz, a great grandson, Blake Hoderny,
her step children, David (Sue) Steinhardt, Gary (Lynn) Steinhardt, Debra
(Cliff) Cook and her cousin Pia Tromp.
She was preceded in death by her sons Michael and Richard Filipiak, her
brother Ralph Plass and her parents.
Funeral services for Vera will be held at 12 Noon on Friday February 1,
2018 at St. John's United Church of Christ, 1248 Lincoln Ave., Sheboygan.
The Rev. Gregory Whelton will officiate. Family and friends will be received
at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Private interment
will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
A memorial fund has been established in Vera's name.
Vera's family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Compassus
Hospice for their loving care and support.
The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with
Vera's arrangements.
