Donald E. “Don” Liebenthal, age 62, Plymouth, WI, passed away on January 17, 2019 with his
family at his side, due to pancreatic cancer. He was born on September 29, 1956 in Milwaukee,
WI, a son of Anne (Kneringer) Leibenthal and the late Donald Liebenthal.
Don attended Boy’s Technical High School, Milwaukee Technical College, and Marian College
where he received his B.S. Degree in Criminal Justice.
On January 8, 1977, Don married Diane L. (nee Spindler) in Sheboygan Falls, WI, and shared 42
years of marriage.
Don began his law enforcement career with the Sheboygan County Sheriff Department and
progressed to a Lieutenant ranking. Don assumed the Chief of Police position at the Kohler
Police Department, assisted the Elkhart Lake Police Department, and worked at the Sheboygan
Falls Police Department until his retirement from law enforcement.
Don continued his working career providing Security, Fraud Investigation, Executive Protection,
and Facility Management to Kohler Company, Harley Davidson and Planned Parenthood of
Wisconsin.
Don is survived by his loving family. Wife – Diane; Children – Christopher Liebenthal (Angel
Logsdon), Amber Liebenthal, and Brian Liebenthal (Ashley). Grandchildren- Brittany Kilner,
Nathaniel Adame, Anastasia Adame, Isabella Liebenthal and Drakeo Liebenthal. Mother- Anne
Liebenthal. Sister – Diane (Phillip) Rozanski. Brothers – Joseph Liebenthal, Paul (Suda)
Liebenthal, and Thomas (Sarah) Liebenthal. Father- in-law – Erwin Spindler. Brother – in law –
Ralph (Barbara Howard) Spindler. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, and many other
relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his Father – Donald Liebenthal, Mother -in – law – Marion Spindler,
his sister – MaryAnn Sternig and other family members.
A Celebration of Don’s Life will be on Sunday afternoon (January 20, 2019) at 3:00 PM at
Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. Father Wayne Bittner will officiate. Entombment will be at
Greenlawn Memorial Park in Kohler, WI.
Friends may call at Suchon Funeral Home on Sunday (Jan. 20) from 12:00 Noon until time of
services.
