Marian E. Wieck (nee Harder), age 88 and formerly of Greenbush passed away on Tuesday
(January 1, 2019) at Pine Haven Assisted Living, where she had been a resident for two years.
She was born on October 18, 1930 in Plymouth, Wisconsin a daughter of the late Otto F. and
Catherine M. (Liebe) Harder. She attended Greenbush Grade School and St. John the Baptist
Catholic School.
On October 23, 1948, she was married at St. John the Baptist in Plymouth to Arden E. Wieck. He
preceded her in death on May 24, 1990. The couple lived in the Plymouth area, Glenbeulah,
and in 1960 moved to Greenbush where they raised their nine children. She was employed by
Kohler Company and then worked for 23 years at Rocky Knoll as a nursing assistant and retired
in 1992. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, canning, puzzles, word search, Yahtzee,
and anything chocolate.
Marian was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth and a former
member of St. Fridolin Catholic Church in Glenbeulah where she belonged to the Christian
Mother Society. She was also a member of the Haslee-Doebert-Schmitt American Legion
Auxiliary Post 261 of Greenbush.
She is survived by three daughters and five sons, Dennis (Linda) Wieck of Elkhart Lake; Gary
Wieck (friend: Mary Schwaller) of Glenbeulah; Kathy (Dennis) Halloran of Plymouth; Arden, Jr
(Ida) of Plymouth; Mary (Nate) Truax of Sheboygan; Monica (Reed) Kleinhans of Kiel; Michael
(Jessica) Wieck of Sheboygan Falls; Scott (Lori) Wieck of Greenbush; and son-in-law Randy
Ribbens. She was Oreo Grandma to 26 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-
great-grandchildren. She is further survived by four sisters-in-law, Jean Harder, Alberta Harder,
Doris Myer, and one brother in law, Gordy (Darlene) Wieck.
She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by daughter Karen Ribbens, grandson Sean Sagal, special friend
Matt Doherty, twin brother Merle Harder, brother Kenneth Harder, sister Marcella (Merlin)
Haag, and brother-in-law Elroy Wieck.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Sunday (January 6, 2019) at 4:00 P.M. at St. John the
Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth with Father Dennis Van Beek officiating. Burial will be in
the Greenbush Cemetery.
Visitation will take place at CHURCH on Sunday (Jan. 6) from 2:00 PM until the time of Mass.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Marian’s name.
