Roger Allen Vick, 82, of Cedar Grove, went home to his Lord and Savior on Friday, December
21, 2018, at Cedar Grove Gardens II.
Roger was born on April 10, 1936, in Milwaukee, to Harold and Imogene (Schneider) Vick. He
was a 1954 graduate of Whitefish Bay High School. On February 2, 1963, Roger married Nancy
Huse at Lake Drive Baptist Church in Milwaukee. Roger served his country in the United States
Army from August 27, 1959 to February 29, 1964. Roger was employed at Silgan for 42 years as
an electrician until his retirement.
Roger was a member of the First Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Cedar Grove, where he
served as elder. He enjoyed flying, and received his commercial pilots license. Roger was
creative and mechanical. He designed and renovated their home additions and maintained and
fixed their vehicles.
Roger is survived by his wife, Nancy Vick; two daughters, Heidi (Jeff) Ferg, and Holly (Dean)
Karrels; fifteen grandchildren, Madalyn Navis, Ashley Navis, Michael Navis, Hannah Navis,
Billy Navis, Alessandra (Tim) Frey, Anneliese Ferg, Zachary Ferg, Stephan Ferg, Benjamin
Ferg, Jakob Ferg, Anastacia Ferg, Angelina Ferg, Anders Ferg, and Brandt Ferg; one brother,
Ronald Vick; one sister-in-law, Joanne Battles; and one brother-in-law, Gordon (Karen) Huse.
He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Richard Vick, and Ralph Vick;
parents-in-law, George and Melvina Huse; two sisters-in-law, Donna (Paul) Heckroth, and Betty
(Dave) Landis; and one brother-in-law, Clarence Huse.
A memorial service to celebrate Roger's life will be held on Friday, December 28, 2018, at the
Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg at 3 pm, with Pastor Steve Petry officiating. An inurnment
will take place at Oostburg Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may greet the family at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Friday,
December 28, 2018, from 1 pm until the time of service at 3 pm.
A memorial fund is being established in his name for WVCY- Milwaukee.
