God called Grace M. Knowles, 95, home on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Artisan Memory Care in
Fond Du Lac. She was born May 29, 1923 in Sheboygan to John and Alma (Mahnke) Sweemer. Grace
was a graduate of Central High School. On July 16, 1946 she was united in marriage to Rudy P. Felten,
he preceded her in death on March 9, 1970. In December of 1985 she was united in marriage to Henry
Knowles, he preceded her in death in February of 1986.
Grace was the owner of the Book Nook. She also was a purchasing agent for St. Nicholas Hospital
retiring in 1988. She was a member of Evangelical Free Church, and was a gifted pianist using her gift to
serve God in many ways.
Grace is survived by her children; Peggy Zelle of Sheboygan, Beth (Glenn) Wynveen of Oostburg, and
Scott (Linda) Felten of Kaukauna, grandchildren; Andrew and Robert Hilpertshauser, Mike (Shannon),
Jamie, Ben (Stacie), and Jon Wynveen, Dawn (Charlie) Vanderheiden, Sarah (Josh) Richards, Paul (Anna)
Felten, great-grandchildren; Brody, Madelyn, Mykayla, Shawn, Taylor, Norah, Nolan, Ethan, Eliana,
Micah, Anna, Tirzah, and Leah and two brothers Gordon (Pat) Sweemer and John Sweemer. She was
preceded in death by her parents, husbands, son Paul Felten, and three sisters, Hazel, Gladys, and Betty.
In accordance with Grace’s wishes private family services will be held.
