Richard (Dick) Wernecke passed away peacefully on November 6, 2018 at the
Rocky Knoll Health Center in Plymouth, Wisconsin, his residence for the past six
years.
Dick was born on January 30, 1952 in Fairmont, Minnesota and lived his childhood
and early adult life in Portsmouth and Columbus, Ohio. He moved to Sheboygan,
Wisconsin in 1991.
Dick graduated from Whetstone High School in Columbus, Ohio and attended
The Ohio State University.
Dick is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Kay and Ed Vance of New Albany,
Ohio, and his sister-in-law and care-giver, Zeta Wernecke of Sheboygan Falls,
Wisconsin.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Rev. Winston and Heidi
Wernecke, and his two brothers, Tom and Jim Wernecke.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at 11am at the
Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Avenue, Sheboygan
followed by interment at Salem Ebenezer Reformed Church Cemetery, 6524
Highway C, Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Friends may call at the funeral home
beginning at 10:30am until the time of service.
