Amanda “Mandy” Hope (Preder) Cain, age 43, of Elkhart Lake, WI, passed away late Saturday evening,
October 6, 2018, after complications resulting from a long, courageous battle with lupus.
She was born on May 9, 1975, daughter of Gerry and Debbie (Schultz) Preder. Mandy graduated from
St. John the Baptist Catholic School in 1989 and was a member of the Plymouth High School graduating
class of 1993. Following high school, Mandy completed the nursing program through Western Wisconsin
Technical College in La Crosse, WI.
On May 8, 1999, she married Mathew Cain at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth, WI.
Mandy and Matt made Elkhart Lake their home and later joyously added the lights of her life, their
daughters, Isabella and Julia to their family.
Mandy continued her education, graduating with high honors with a degree in Medical Technology from
Moraine Park Technical College in Fond du Lac, WI. She most recently worked as a Laboratory Scientist
for Sheboygan Internal Medicine in Sheboygan, WI. In addition, the past two summers, Mandy and her
husband Matt, along with their daughter’s and the help of their parents, managed Fireman’s Park in
Elkhart Lake, WI.
Mandy enjoyed many things in life, but the most important thing to her was always family. She
especially loved all the little ones. Those, whom knew and love her, will remember that she was always
eager to welcome new babies. She truly cherished every moment she had with her family. She was also
known for her great sense of humor and quick wit. Mandy was always making people laugh. Her nieces
and nephew enjoyed and looked forward to her silly video chats.
Mandy is survived by: Husband: Matt; Daughters: Isabella and Julia; Parents: Gerry and Debbie Preder of
Plymouth; Sisters: Ellison (Travis) Capelle of Wyoming and Trina (Nic) Meinnert of Pennsylvania; Father
and Mother-in-law: Mike and Sandy Cain of Elkhart Lake; Sister-in-law: Jenny (Ryan) Williams of Fond du
Lac; Nieces: Lydia and Hope Capelle, and Mackenzie and Molly Williams; Nephew: J. Lane Meinnert.
Mandy is further survived by: Step-grandmother: Doris Schultz of Sheboygan and Grandmother-in-law:
Dolores Cain of Elkhart Lake; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Mandy was preceded in death by: Maternal grandparents: Bill Schultz and Marion Schultz; Paternal
grandparents: Warren and Grace Preder; and Cousin: Chad Kaufmann.
Following Mandy’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday (October 13, 2018) at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth.
Visitation will take place from 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM with a prayer service to immediately follow at 4:00
PM. Father Wayne Bittner will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested in Amanda’s name to the Elkhart Lake First Responders.

family.
