Cecilia R. Schumacher, age 90, of West Bend, WI, (formerly of Plymouth), passed away late
Wednesday Evening (Oct. 3, 2018) at Cedar Lake Community in West Bend where she had been
a resident for the past four years.
She was born on December 29th, 1927 in Menominee, Michigan, daughter of the late John A.
and Mary Fazer Schneider.
Cecilia attended Menominee area grade schools and graduated from Menominee High School in
1945. She was employed at Wisconsin Bell in Marinette, WI for four years after her graduation.
On October 23, 1948, she married Charles A. Schumacher in Menominee, Michigan at the
Epiphany Catholic Church. The couple has resided in the Plymouth area since 1951. He
preceded her in death on October 11, 2008.
She worked with her husband, Charles, as a secretary for his insurance business, State Farm
Insurance Company in Plymouth for many years.
Cecilia was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth and a member of the
Christian Mothers Society in the church and also a member of the Plymouth Veterans of Foreign
Wars Auxiliary #5612.
She enjoyed needlecraft, crossword puzzles and spending time with her loving children and
grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include: Three sons: John Schumacher (Special friend: Maria Allison) of Tampa, FL,
Charles E. Schumacher of Thailand, James (Lisa) Schumacher of Plymouth, WI; Four daughters:
Claire (William) Lange of Friendsville, TN, Mary (Dr. Charles) Kaufmann of West Bend, WI, Bette
Schumacher of Waukesha, WI, Rose Schumacher of Kaukauna, WI; Thirteen grandchildren; and
Twelve great grandchildren
She is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by daughter-in-law: Barbara Schumacher; two sisters: Mary Ann
(Earl) Averite and Elizabeth St. Laurent; three brothers: Lawrence (Jess) Schneider, John
Schneider and Paul (Louise) Schneider; two half-brothers: Benedict (Pat) Schneider, Joseph
Schneider Jr.; two half-sisters: Isabelle (James) Despins and Agnes (George) Daniel; brother-in-
law: John W. (Hazel) Schumacher
Funeral services will be held on Monday (October 8) at 6:00 P.M. at the Suchon Funeral Home in
Plymouth. Father Wayne Bittner will officiate. Burial will be at St. John the Baptist Catholic
Cemetery in Plymouth.
Friends may call at the SUCHON FUNERAL HOME from 4:00 P.M. on Monday until the time of
services.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Cecilia’s name for the Plymouth Lions
Club.
