Peter J. Reano, age 91, of Sheboygan Falls, (formerly of Sheboygan) died on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at the Pine Haven Christian Home surrounded by his family. He was born in Sheboygan on November 17, 1926, the son of the late Angelo and Caroline DeLaurenti Reano.
Peter attended local schools and was a 1945 graduate of Sheboygan Central High School. He then furthered his education at UW-Madison, graduating in 1950. On April 20, 1946, he was united in marriage to Katherine C. Ognacevich in Charleston, SC. Peter was a buyer for the Kohler Company from 1951 to 1986. He also was a part-time doorman at the American Club for fourteen years.
Peter was a U.S. Navy Veteran and served his country in World War II on the USS Stoddard, from 1944 to 1946. He was a current member of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church and held various positions at the church, which included the SPC Senior Choir and the Church Board. Peter also had a love of music, actively playing clarinet for sixty-four years. He was a member of the Wuerl Band, Kohler Company Band, Plymouth Municipal Band, Sheboygan Pops Concert Band, Sheboygan Barbershop Chorus, and held other various band leadership positions. Peter was a Fountain Park Music Hall of Fame recipient and was on the committee to build the Band Shell at Fountain Park. He was also a part of the Jaycee’s 1

Survivors include his five children, Linda (James Zalabsky) Reano, Carolyn Henckel, Kathryn (James) Bolgert, Michael Reano and Christine Reano; five grandchildren, David (Kristi) Henckel, Katherine (Ben) Zukowski, Mary (Christopher) Houser, Peter Bolgert and Anne (Emily McKinney) Bolgert; five great-grandchildren, Noah, Isabelle, Ava Zukowski and Marguerite and Henry Houser. Peter is further survived by many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and a son-in-law, Harold Henckel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, 1439 S.12

St., Sheboygan with Rev. Paul Fliss officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church on Thursday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 12:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Woodland Cemetery in Kohler.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Peter Claver Catholic Church or the Pine Haven Christian Home. Peter’s family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Pine Haven and the Sharon S. Richardson Hospice for the care, comfort and support.
In the end, wha mattered most to our dad were his Italian heritage and his family, “La Famiglia!”
