Albert
B. Nysse, age 94, went to be with his Savior on September 21, 2018. He was born
May 17, 1924 on the family homestead in Town of Lima, WI. He was the youngest 11 children of Martin and
Alydia (Grievink) Nysse. He attended
Hillcrest Grade School. His first job
off the farm was raising barns with Adolf Suhrke’s crew. On June 15, 1946, Albert wed Pearl Wilke at
Zion E & R in Sheboygan. With the
help of Adolf, Albert built their home at 28
th
and Superior
Ave. He worked for National Box Co. in
Sheboygan.
In
1956, Albert and Pearl moved their family of 4 children to a dairy farm west of
Plymouth. Albert also worked as a
mechanic for W.B. Suhrke Implement.
Albert enjoyed his annual deer hunting trip to Ogema, WI. When he retired from farming Albert put his
handyman skills to use as custodian at Salem UCC and Plymouth Town Hall. They
resided in Farm Hills subdivision. Pearl passed away July 27, 1983.
On
December 28, 1985, Albert married Lucile (Kleinhans) Matzdorf at Salem
Plankroad Church, where he assisted her as church custodian. He moved to her
rural Sheboygan Falls residence. Together they enjoyed gardening, bird watching
with Plymouth Bird Club, playing cards, singing in the church choir at Salem
Plankroad, polka dancing at Johnsonville and attending antique tractor shows.
They raised a big vegetable garden, spending the summer canning and
freezing. They volunteered at the
Sheboygan County Fair and worked on genealogy at the Sheboygan county
Historical Society and attended Second Saturday programs. Al and Lucile
attended both Salem
UCC
and Salem Plankroad church weekly. Lucile passed away April 1, 2013. In 2015,
Al moved
to
Plymouth.
Albert
is survived by his 5 children: Sharon (Randall) Odekirk of Plymouth, Lawrence
(Jean) Nysse of Plymouth, Daniel (Patricia) Nysse rural West Bend, Linda Nysse
of Plymouth and DiAnne Kober (special friend: John Skvarce) Sheboygan; 6 grandchildren:
Kendall Odekirk (special friend: Jodie Reno) Kiel, Kyle (Melissa) Odekirk
Plymouth, Nathen (Jill) Nysse Hortonville, Matthew (Nicole) Nysse Deforest,
Sara (Clark) Kleinhans Plymouth and Rachel (Jason) Pokorny Cedarburg and 12
great-grandchildren: Nickolas Odekirk, Haylen and Makyla Odekirk, Olivia and
Ethan Nysse, Paige and Brock Nysse, Carisa and Kaylee Kleinhans and Evan Owen
and Aiden Pokorny.
He
is further survived by 3 step-daughters: Karen Schinabeck, Beverly Weigel and
Charlene (David) Buckman and their families and a step son-in-law, John
Flunker.
He
was preceded in death by his wife Pearl, and wife Lucile, 6 brothers: Matthew,
Lewis (Marie), Clarence (Elvira), Theodor, Lawrence (Rose) and Edward (Elnora);
4 sisters: Elsie (John) Van Sluys, Martha (John) Van Ess, Dorothy (LeRoy)
Wessel and Angeline (Jacob) Van Treeck and step-daughters; Sherry Flunker and
Ginny Horneck and Step son-in-law’s; James Weigel and Tony Schinabeck.
Memorial
services will be held on Tuesday afternoon (Sept. 25, 2018) at 3:00 P.M. at
Salem
United
Church of Christ in Plymouth. Rev. James Hoppert, pastor of the Church will
officiate.
Cremation
has taken place and inurnment will be in Union Cemetery in the Town of Holland.
Friends
may call on Tuesday at the CHURCH from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the services.
In
lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Albert’s name.
