Ewald
“Ed” Siech, age 87, Plymouth, WI, passed away Tuesday morning (Sept. 18, 2018)
at the Sharon S. Richardson Hospice in Sheboygan Falls.
He
was born on October 24, 1930 in Gillette, Wis., son of the late Charles and
Marie Grab Siech.
He
attended Gillette Grade School and completed his G.E.D. while in service.
Ed
served in the United States Army from 1948-1968 during the Korean War and
Vietnam War.
On
February 4, 1954 he married Ruth L. Schmitt in Mannheim, Germany. The couple lived in Germany after their
marriage before moving to Fort Riley, Kansas and has resided in Plymouth since
1968.
He
retired in December, 1968 after a career in Military service as a Master
Sargent E-7. He then worked at the Kohler Company for 24 years retiring in
1992.
His
wife preceded him in death on February 7, 2004.
Ed and
his wife bowled for many years in a couple’s league at Casey Jones Lanes in
Plymouth.
He
enjoyed hunting, fishing and ran a charter fishing service (Sundowner Charters)
out of Sheboygan for 13 years.
Survivors
include one son: Robert (Pam) Siech of Plymouth; and three grandchildren: Tyler
Siech, Ashley Siech, and Lauren Siech.
He
is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He
was preceded in death by one son: William; four brothers: Edward, Adolph,
Julius and Otto; three sisters: Mary, Blanche and Olga; and three
sisters-in-law: Juanita, Virginia, Agnes Siech.
Memorial
services will be held on Tuesday (Sept. 25) at 12:00 Noon at the Suchon Funeral
Home in Plymouth. Father Wayne Bittner
will officiate. Cremation has taken
place and inurnment will be at
Plymouth
Woodlawn
Cemetery.
Friends
may call at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth from 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday
(Sept. 25) until the time of services.
The
Plymouth VFW World Cheese Center Post #5612 will conduct military rites
following services at the funeral home.
In
lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Ewald’s name.
