Walter J.
Nytes Jr., age 73, of Sheboygan, WI, passed away early Tuesday morning (August
28, 2018) at Countryside Manor in Sheboygan where he had been a resident for
the past 3 months.
Walter was
born on July 6, 1945 in Sheboygan, WI, a son of the late Walter C. Nytes Sr.
and Margaret (Korff) Nytes.
He attended
Random Lake Grade School and graduated from Random Lake High School in 1965.
Walter
served in the United States Army from 1965-1969 serving in Vietnam.
On October
24, 1970 he married Julia Torke at the Trinity Methodist Church in Waldo. The couple resided in Sheboygan.
Walter was
employed as a Fork Lift Operator at the Sheboygan Foundry for 12 years and then
was a self-employed landscaper helping many of his neighbors with their lawns
until his retirement.
His wife
preceded him in death on January 22, 2002.
Walter was
a member of the Melvin Wester Belgium American Legion Post # 412 and was an avid
fisherman.
Survivors
include: His four sons: Jonathan (Angela) Nytes, Robert Nytes, Christopher
Nytes and Jason (Tami) Nytes all of Sheboygan and One Daughter: Suzanne (Joe)
Woods of Elgin, OK. Twelve Grandchildren. One Brother and Two Sisters: Ernest (Sheri) Nytes of Plymouth and Rose
(Harold) Whipple of Sheboygan and Donna (Gregory) Blanke of Sheboygan Falls.
He is also
survived by many nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.
Walter was
preceded in death by his parents; Two Infant brothers; Three sisters: Lorraine
(Lazurn) Brown, Carol (Robert) Knepprath and Lucille Gilsdorf and her
husband’s: Delmar Shipper and Richard Gilsdorf.
Funeral
Services will be held on Friday afternoon (August 31, 2018) at 1:00 P.M. at the
Suchon Funeral
Home in
Plymouth. Rev. Denise Kwiatkowski,
pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church in Waldo will officiate. Burial will be in the Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery
in the Town of Sherman.
Friends may
call at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth from 11:00 A.M. on Friday until the
time of services.
The
Ladewig-Zinkgraf American Legion Post # 243 will conduct military rites at the
graveside following the services at the Suchon Funeral Home.
In lieu of
flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Walter’s Name.
