Marvin Joseph Chaltry, 83, of
Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at the Harvest Home
in Howards Grove.
Marvin was born on March 8, 1935,
in Menominee, MI to Thomas and Florence (Greenwood) Chaltry. He was a 1954
graduate of Menominee High School. Marvin then served his country in the United
States Marine Corps from 1954-1956. On September 29, 1956 Marvin married Alyce
Comyne. She preceded him in death on April 15, 1998. Marvin was employed at the
Milwaukee Journal Sentinel as a Supervisor for over 30 years.
Marvin was an avid Green Bay
Packer and Milwaukee Brewers fan. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, doing yard
work and enjoying his time at the Gathering Place.
Marvin is survived by his three
daughters, Cindy (Robin) Nesst of Howards Grove, Mary (Marlyn) Meinnert of
Sheboygan, and Kristin (Doug) Blada of Howards Grove; one daughter-in-law,
Paula Chaltry of Oostburg; nine grandchildren, Christopher (fiance Kaylin
Sparks) Nesst, Ryan (Nakole) Nesst, Michael Meinnert, Matthew Meinnert,
Samantha Kaesermann, Stephanie Blada, Aaron Blada, Lucas Chaltry, and Treva
Chaltry; great-grandchildren, Camren and soon-to-be baby Colten Nesst and Makynzie, Jenna, Junior, Hannah and James
Nesst; two sisters-in-law, Jean Chaltry and Kay Wilson; and special friend,
Jean Pleshek. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and
friends.
Marvin was preceded in death by
his wife, Alyce Chaltry; his parents; one son, James Chaltry; and two brothers,
Robert Chaltry, and Sylvan Chaltry.
A funeral service to celebrate
Marvin's life will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2018, at 2pm at the Chapel
of Eternal Light at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Sheboygan with Pastor Donna VanOrden
officiating. An Entombment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Relatives and friends may greet
the family at the Chapel of Eternal Light at Greenlawn Memorial Park on
Saturday, August 25, 2018, from 12pm until the time of service at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers a memorial
fund is being established in his name.
The family wishes to extend a
