Dennis and Karen began their lifelong adventure together on
August 15, 1964, united in marriage at St. John’s UCC in Sheboygan. They
enjoyed a wonderful marriage, sharing their life with their two children, David
and Kris, and later with their spouses and five grandchildren. All of which
gave them both much joy throughout the years.

years and was awarded an honorary degree from Lakeland when she retired as
administrative assistant to the president in 2006. Karen and Dennis have been
volunteering at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice since July of 2008.
After her retirement in 2006, Karen’s new “job” was having lunch with her
friends.
Karen enjoyed reading and caring for her home and family.
She also found great joy in caring for her cats. She always looked forward to
“making a joyful noise” with members of The Grace UCC church choir and the
morning swims with her friends. Dennis and Karen vacationed in Door County and
Hot Springs Village, Arkansas and explored numerous states and a few countries.
The highlight of their travels was their 14 visits with their daughter Kris and
