Gilbert H. Schmoock
Jr., age 72, of Hingham, passed away
Sunday morning, (July 29, 2018) at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice facility
in Sheboygan Falls.
He was born
on July 2, 1946 in Wisconsin Rapids, son of the late Gilbert Sr. and Catherine
(Bankes)
Schmoock.
Gib
graduated from Lincoln High School in Wisconsin Rapids in 1964. Following High
School,
he served in
the United States Navy for 3 years.
On November
14, 1970 he married Betty Taylor at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Adell.
He worked at
Toro for many years (Formerly Gilson and Lawn Boy). Over the years, he held many different
positions and retired in 2012.
Gib was a
member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Adell.
He enjoyed
bowling, deer hunting, fishing, camping and going to eat at Waldo Café.
Survivors
include: His wife: Betty of Hingham; Four children: Teresa (Dale) Critchley of West St. Paul, MN,
Wendy (Geoffrey) Schuh of Plymouth, Jill (Andrew) Ife of Southampton, England,
Matthew (Mai) Schmoock of Sheboygan; 16 Grandchildren; Brother: Carl (Barbara)
Schmoock of Athens, GA; 4 Brothers-in-law; 4 Sisters-in-law; and also survived
by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was
preceded in death by: His parents; Mother and father-in-law: Willard and Elnora
Taylor; and Sister: Joy Hindes.
Funeral Services
will be held on Thursday Morning (August 2, 2018) at 10:30 A.M. at
Emmanuel
Lutheran Church in Adell. Rev. Nathan
Meador, Pastor of St. John Lutheran Church
in Plymouth will
officiate. Burial will be in the Emmanuel
Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation
will be held on Wednesday Evening (August 1) from 4-7:00 P.M. at the Suchon
Funeral
Home in
Plymouth and also at the CHURCH on THURSDAY morning from 9:30 A.M. until the
time of
services.
A Memorial
Fund is being established in Gilbert’s name for the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in
Adell
or the
Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
