Vernon J. Swoboda, 87, of Sheboygan, passed away on Monday,
July 16, 2018 at Rocky Knoll Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in Plymouth. He was born June 16, 1931 in Manitowoc to Quirn
and Dorothy (Holzschuh) Swoboda. Vernon
graduated from Central High School and went on to receive his Bachelor of
Science Degree from Lakeland College.
Vernon proudly served in the US Army/Air Corps during the
Korean Conflict.
He was a social worker with Catholic Social Services and was
a Sheboygan County Board Supervisor for many years. He enjoyed bartending at
Lotso’s Bar and Mucky Duck in Sheboygan.
Vernon enjoyed spending time with his life partner Marie Mulder, taking drives
through Kohler Andrae State Park.
Playing the lottery and spending time with his family and friends.
Vernon is survived by three sons; Mike Swoboda of Sheboygan,
John (Faith) Swoboda of FL, and Chris Swoboda of HI, by four daughters; Kathy
Swoboda of Milwaukee, Pam (Mike) Zastrow of Waldo, Kelly Swoboda, and Peggy
(fiancé George Limbeck) Swoboda both of Sheboygan, by his seven grandchildren;
Lisa(Matt) Locke, Michael Zastrow Jr, Jonathan Swoboda Jr., Shelby (David)
Williams, Shannon (Charles) Breen, Cassandra Swoboda and Sierra Swoboda, by his
great-grandson Conner Williams and great-granddaughter Presley June, sisters,
Audrey (Richard) Sharenbrock and Joanne Schmahl both of Sheboygan. He is further survived by nieces, nephews,
other relatives and friends. He was
preceded in death by his parents, his sister Shirley (Lloyd) Paulson, and
grandson Justin.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at
4:00PM at Ballhorn Chapels Funeral & Cremation Care Center, 1201 N. 8
th
St. Sheboygan, with Pastor DuWayne Hanke officiating. Entombment will take place at Greenlawn
Memorial Park in Kohler. Relatives and
friends may visit with the family on Sunday, July 22, 2018 from 2:00 PM until
the time of service at the FUNERAL HOME.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in
Vernon’s name.
