Arthur F. Edler, age 95, of Howards Grove, went to be with
his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, July 11, 2018.
Arthur was born in Cleveland, WI on June 26, 1923 to the
late George and Judith (Voss) Edler. He attended local school in Manitowoc
County. He spent approximately 3 ½ years in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific
Theater of the World War II from 1943-1946. He retired from the Hi-Lite Machine
Company after approximately 35 years as a supervisor.
On November 9
th
, 1946 he married Delilah Kuester
at the home of her parents by the Rev. R.R. Krueger. They enjoyed many years of
roller skate dancing together. She preceded him in death on January 29, 2012.
Arthur was a handy man. If there was something that needed to be fixed, he was
the man to call. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and will be
dearly missed by all who knew him.
Arthur is survived by his two daughters, Sandra (Douglas)
Perronne of Rock Hill, SC and Charlene Zimmerman of Zeeland, MI; 10
grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 10 great great-grandchildren; a
daughter-in-law Sheila Edler and a special friend Jean Koffel. Other family and
friends further survive.
Along with his wife Delilah, he was preceded in death by a
son Ronald; a brother Eugene; five sisters, LaVerne, Marjorie, Bernadine, Ruth
and Carol; a grandson Derrick Perronne and a son-in-law Ronald Zimmerman.
A Memorial Service for Arthur will be held at 2:00 PM on
Tuesday, July 17 at Zimmer Westview Funeral and Cremation Care Center, W2132
Garton Rd, Sheboygan, with Pastor Mark Brunn officiating. The family will greet
visitors, at the funeral home, on Tuesday from 12:00 NOON until the time of
service at 2:00 PM. Full Military Honors will be held after the service. Arthur
will be laid to rest in Lutheran Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in
Arthur’s name.
The family would like to personally thank the staff at
Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for the care given to Arthur and the
support that was shown to them as a family. Your compassion will be remembered
